Economics Adjunct Faculty (Part-time) at The American University of Bahrain

The American University of Bahrain is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Economics Adjunct Faculty (Part-time) . Job Description

As an Adjunct Faculty member in Economics, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to undergraduate students. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and delivering lectures, seminars, and tutorials in various economics subjects (Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, International Economics, etc.).
  • Designing, administering, and grading assessments, assignments, and research projects.
  • Providing academic advising and support to students during designated office hours.
  • Contributing to curriculum development and ensuring alignment with academic quality standards.
  • Adhering to all university academic and administrative policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in Economics or a closely related field from an accredited university. (A Ph.D. is highly preferred).
  • A minimum of 2 years of proven university-level teaching experience.
  • Excellent command of the English language (both written and spoken), as it is the medium of instruction.
  • Proficiency in using modern educational technologies and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience teaching core economics courses such as Principles of Economics, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Monetary Economics, and International Economics.
  • Ability to connect economic theories to practical applications and real-world case studies.
  • A record of research and publications in peer-reviewed journals (a strong plus).
  • Familiarity with international academic accreditation standards.
