Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer - Candidzone Technologies

Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The successful engineer will be integrated into a dynamic team and will be responsible for a range of critical technical and engineering tasks, including but not limited to:

• Design & Engineering: Contributing to the design and review of electrical systems and instrumentation & control (E&I) system drawings for various company projects.
• Supervision & Execution: Providing field supervision for the installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical and instrumentation systems on project sites, ensuring compliance with specifications and the highest standards of quality and safety.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Performing periodic and preventive maintenance, diagnosing faults, and carrying out repairs on electrical systems, control systems, and precision instruments.
• Project Management: Assisting in planning and scheduling project activities related to electrical and instrumentation works, ensuring timely completion within the allocated budget.
• Documentation & Reporting: Preparing technical reports, operational documents, and test protocols, and maintaining accurate updates of records and engineering drawings.
• Compliance & Standards: Ensuring all work complies with local Qatari regulations, international industry standards (such as IEC, IEEE, NEC), and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations.

Qualifications & Essential Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Control Engineering, or a related field from a recognized university.
• Work Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of practical experience in the Electrical & Instrumentation engineering field, preferably within sectors such as Oil & Gas, Power, Water, or major industrial/commercial projects.
• Technical Knowledge:
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical power system principles (LV & MV), lighting systems, and overcurrent protection.
  • Strong familiarity with instrumentation systems such as pressure, flow, and temperature transmitters, control valves, PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems, and DCS (Distributed Control Systems).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and construction drawings.
  • Proficiency in using relevant engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD) is a plus.
• Professional Certifications: Recognized professional certifications (e.g., PMP, safety certifications) will be highly regarded.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), the ability to work effectively within a team and in a multicultural environment, and strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
• Other Requirements: Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantageous addition. Applicants must have a valid residency permit in Qatar or be ready to relocate.
