Job Overview
The Electrical Maintenance Lead holds a pivotal role within any industrial or production facility. This position is responsible for planning, executing, and supervising all electrical maintenance activities related to plant equipment and fixed systems. The incumbent ensures the safe and continuous operation of electrical power, motors, and control systems, directly contributing to production targets and minimizing unplanned downtime.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Leadership & Supervision: Lead, guide, and direct a team of electrical maintenance technicians and engineers. Delegate tasks and ensure strict adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive preventive and predictive maintenance plans for electrical systems and equipment to enhance reliability and extend operational life.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex electrical faults swiftly and effectively, minimizing equipment downtime.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with all local and international electrical safety regulations (e.g., NFPA, IEC) and promote a strong safety culture within the team.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the inventory of electrical spare parts, initiate procurement plans, and ensure material availability for maintenance activities.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities. Analyze data to identify trends and propose improvements.
- Budgeting: Assist in preparing and monitoring the electrical maintenance department budget, controlling costs effectively.
- Development & Training: Identify training needs for the team and implement skill development programs to enhance their technical competencies.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance within an industrial environment (e.g., Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Manufacturing, Utilities). Proven leadership experience of at least 3 years in managing a team is essential.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of electrical power systems (LV & MV), motors, control systems (PLC, DCS), and distribution equipment.
- Skills: Strong leadership and managerial skills. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Certifications: Professional certifications in electrical safety or maintenance management (e.g., CFPS, CRL) are a strong advantage.
- Other: Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking). Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations.
