Electrical Supervisor Job in Qatar

Job Overview

The appointed Electrical Supervisor will work directly with one of Brunel's clients in Qatar, most likely active in vital sectors such as Oil & Gas, Energy, or Industrial Construction. The supervisor will be responsible for field leadership and direct supervision of all electrical activities on-site, ensuring strict adherence to quality, safety, and schedule standards.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide direct supervision to teams of technicians and electricians at the worksite.
• Plan and execute daily tasks involving the installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems.
• Ensure full compliance with all applicable local and international safety procedures (e.g., NFPA, IEC standards, and Qatari regulations).
• Review electrical drawings, design documents, and ensure work is executed according to required technical specifications.
• Coordinate work with supervisors of other disciplines (Mechanical, Maintenance, Instrumentation & Control) to ensure project harmony.
• Conduct quality inspections and ensure all materials and equipment used meet specifications.
• Prepare daily reports on work progress, productivity, any incidents, and equipment status.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of team members.
• Manage inventory of electrical materials and spare parts.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or an advanced technical diploma (equivalent to a College of Technology diploma) with broader experience.
• Minimum of 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in the electrical field, with at least 5 years in a field supervisory role.
• Proven prior experience working on major industrial projects, preferably within the Oil & Gas or Power sector.
• In-depth knowledge of LV/MV systems, motor control centers, drive systems, and industrial lighting.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety systems and safe work practices (isolation, lockout-tagout, grounding).
• Leadership skills and the ability to manage a diverse team in a multicultural work environment.
• Excellent English communication and reporting skills (verbal and written). Knowledge of Arabic will be a distinct advantage.
• Ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines.
