Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The newly appointed General Practitioner will be integrated into a multidisciplinary medical team, responsible for providing primary and comprehensive medical care to patients at the clinic. Key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough medical consultations and physical examinations for patients of all age groups.
• Diagnosing and treating a wide range of common acute illnesses, infections, and minor injuries.
• Providing preventive healthcare advice and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices.
• Referring patients to appropriate specialists within the Aster DM network or externally when necessary, while maintaining oversight of their care.
• Accurately documenting all patient interactions, diagnoses, and treatment plans in electronic medical records.
• Collaborating closely with nurses, pharmacists, lab technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
• Adhering to the highest standards of medical ethics, professional practice, and the regulatory guidelines of the Oman Medical Council.

Requirements & Qualifications

To be eligible for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: An MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) degree or equivalent from a recognized university.
• Licensing: Must possess a valid license to practice medicine in the Sultanate of Oman, or be fully eligible to obtain one. Priority will be given to doctors already registered with the Oman Medical Council.
• Experience: Proven post-graduate experience of at least 2-3 years in general practice, a clinic, or hospital setting. Previous experience in an international or GCC healthcare environment is a strong advantage.
• Skills: Excellent diagnostic skills, strong communication and interpersonal abilities with empathy for patients from diverse backgrounds. Must be a team player.
• Language: Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential. Knowledge of Arabic is a significant advantage for communicating with a broader patient base.
