Job Description and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will assume the role of the leader responsible for all aspects of agricultural production operations. The focus will be on ensuring efficiency, quality, sustainability, and meeting operational and financial targets. The key responsibilities for this leadership role include:
- Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the entire agricultural production team, including supervisors, technicians, and laborers. Motivate the team and ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and quality in the work environment.
- Planning and Operations: Develop and implement strategic, annual, and monthly production plans to achieve output targets in terms of quantity, quality, and timing.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyze current operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement to increase productivity, reduce costs, and enhance resource efficiency (water, energy, fertilizers).
- Quality Management: Establish and enforce rigorous quality control programs across all production stages, from cultivation to harvest and processing, ensuring products meet local and international specifications and standards.
- Resource Management: Oversee the optimal utilization of resources including modern agricultural technologies (e.g., greenhouses, advanced irrigation systems), machinery, equipment, and storage facilities.
- Budget and Cost Control: Prepare the department's budget and control operational expenditures to ensure work is carried out within approved financial allocations.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed periodic reports on production performance, key performance indicators, issues, and proposed solutions for senior management.
Requirements and Qualifications
To qualify for this leadership position, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Sciences, or a related field. A Master's degree is a strong advantage.
- Work Experience: A minimum of 10 to 15 years of hands-on experience in agricultural production, with a focus on modern, intensive farming projects. This experience must include at least 5 years in a leadership role (e.g., Production Manager, Department Head) with proven ability to manage large teams.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep knowledge of modern agricultural practices, protected cultivation techniques (greenhouses), irrigation management, pest control, and soil science. Experience in desert or semi-arid environments is a significant advantage.
- Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership and managerial skills with a proven track record of motivating and guiding teams to achieve objectives.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data, solve complex problems, and make informed decisions.
- Language Proficiency: Full professional proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking). Knowledge of Arabic is an additional advantage.
