General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a leading provider of information technology and defense services, is seeking an experienced cybersecurity professional to join its team in Kuwait for the position of Information Assurance II. Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will hold a pivotal role within the cybersecurity team, responsible for protecting the integrity and security of sensitive information systems and technical infrastructure. Core responsibilities include:

  • Implementing and Managing Cybersecurity Policies: Ensuring systems and networks comply with the latest applicable local and international security standards and policies, such as NIST frameworks and ISO 27001.
  • Monitoring and Analyzing Security Threats: Utilizing advanced tools to monitor network activity, detect anomalies or intrusion attempts, and preparing detailed analytical reports.
  • Conducting Vulnerability Assessments: Performing regular scans of systems and networks to identify vulnerabilities and providing recommendations for risk mitigation.
  • Responding to Security Incidents: Participating in the incident response team, executing containment and eradication plans, and preparing post-incident reports.
  • Ensuring Security Compliance: Working to ensure all technical components meet the required security certifications and compliance mandates for operation.
  • Collaborating with Technical Teams: Working closely with network engineering and systems administration teams to implement security controls effectively.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Information Security, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a similar technical discipline.
  • Work Experience: Proven hands-on experience of 3 to 5 years in information assurance or cybersecurity, preferably within sensitive environments or sectors related to defense or government.
  • Professional Certifications: Possession of relevant industry certifications is highly preferred, such as:
    • Security+
    • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
    • CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
    • CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)
  • Technical Skills:
    • In-depth knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux).
    • Experience with network security tools and appliances (Firewalls, IDS/IPS).
    • Understanding of data encryption principles and Identity & Access Management (IAM) systems.
    • Ability to perform security log analysis.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent communication and documentation skills (clear report writing).
    • Teamwork and collaboration within multi-disciplinary teams.
