Job Description and Key Responsibilities
The appointed Internal Auditor will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of the company's financial and operational processes. Key responsibilities include:
- Effectively planning and executing periodic and surprise internal audit assignments in accordance with international and local auditing standards.
- Assessing the efficiency and effectiveness of internal control systems and assisting in their continuous development and improvement.
- Reviewing financial records and accounting documents to verify their accuracy and compliance with established policies and applicable laws in the Sultanate of Oman.
- Identifying operational and financial weaknesses and risks, and proposing practical solutions and recommendations for remediation.
- Preparing comprehensive and clear audit reports that present findings, observations, and recommendations to senior management.
- Following up on the implementation of recommendations from audit reports to ensure proper closure of observations.
- Contributing to the promotion of a culture of compliance, integrity, and transparency across the company.
- Collaborating with various departments to understand processes and provide objective consultancy for improving efficiency.
Qualifications and Core Requirements
To qualify for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Advanced professional certifications (e.g., CIA, CPA, CA) are a strong advantage.
- Proven practical experience of at least 3 to 5 years in the field of internal auditing, preferably with some experience in large corporate or financial institution environments.
- In-depth knowledge of International Auditing Standards (International Professional Practices Framework - IPPF) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- A good understanding of the laws and regulatory frameworks applicable in the Sultanate of Oman.
- Exceptional analytical skills and a strong attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of an integrated team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English.
- Integrity, objectivity, and absolute confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
- Proficiency in computer applications and Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP or Oracle.
