Job Description and Responsibilities
The IT Assistant will be appointed as an essential part of the technical support team, responsible for a range of tasks that ensure smooth technical operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing first-line technical support to office staff, addressing their inquiries and technical issues related to hardware and software.
- Assisting in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer equipment (desktops, laptops), printers, network devices, and other peripherals.
- Participating in basic network management and ensuring stable and effective connectivity for all users.
- Assisting in the installation and upgrading of required software and applications, ensuring they are updated regularly.
- Providing support in managing email systems and user accounts.
- Assisting in troubleshooting daily technical issues and documenting solutions for future reference.
- Maintaining an inventory of IT assets (Hardware & Software) and recording any changes.
- Ensuring basic cybersecurity procedures are followed within the work scope.
- Performing any other IT-related tasks assigned by the direct supervisor.
Required Qualifications and Skills
To be a successful candidate for this position, you should meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field. Formal qualifications can be compensated for with tangible practical experience.
- Experience: Practical experience ranging from 0 to 3 years in IT support or a similar role. Experience in an office environment is preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Practical knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems.
- Basic understanding of LAN/WAN networks and networking concepts.
- Ability to troubleshoot common hardware and software problems.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Arabic is essential, English is an advantage).
- Strong problem-analysis skills and the ability to find practical solutions.
- Customer-service orientation and a willingness to help others.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good time management and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Fast learning ability and a desire to develop technical skills.
