Job Overview

The Group Head of IT will bear full responsibility for leading and directing the Information Technology strategy and digital transformation across the entire group. This role involves leading the IT function, ensuring technology initiatives are fully aligned with the overarching business objectives of the holding company and its subsidiaries. The position is based in the vibrant Qatari capital, Doha.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Develop and implement a comprehensive group-wide IT strategy that supports operational growth and innovation.
• Lead the management and modernization of the group's central technology infrastructure (networks, servers, systems, cybersecurity).
• Oversee the planning and execution of digital transformation projects across various subsidiary companies.
• Manage the IT department budget effectively, ensuring a high return on investment.
• Ensure compliance with the highest standards of information security and data protection, adhering to local and international regulations.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
• Act as a strategic partner to senior management and subsidiary CEOs to identify technological needs and provide solutions.
• Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies that could provide the group with a competitive advantage.
• Ensure business continuity and 99.9% availability of critical systems.

Essential Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree (e.g., MBA with a tech focus) is a strong advantage.
• A minimum of 12 to 15 years of progressive experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., Head of IT, IT Director) within a major holding company or a diversified group of companies.
• Proven experience working in the investment, financial services, or holding sector with a diversified portfolio.
• Deep knowledge of modern infrastructure technologies, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data analytics.
• Strong experience in managing complex technology projects and large budgets.
• In-depth understanding of IT Governance frameworks such as COBIT or ITIL.
• Exceptional leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire teams and drive organizational change.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both Arabic and English, with the ability to present complex reports to the board and non-technical stakeholders.
