Aroma City Group, through one of its esteemed client companies in Doha, is offering a distinguished career opportunity for a seasoned project management professional to assume a leadership role as a PMO Lead. This position represents a pivotal function aimed at ensuring the successful execution of strategic and operational projects, adhering to the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and alignment with business objectives.

Job Description and Responsibilities

The appointed PMO Lead will hold a senior leadership position responsible for the overall oversight of the Project Management Office. They will be the central figure in enhancing project management maturity within the organization and ensuring standardized practices across all initiatives. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leadership & Strategic Development: Lead and develop the PMO team, defining the office's vision and strategy to embed a project management culture within the enterprise.
  • Framework & Governance: Design, implement, and continuously improve project management frameworks, policies, procedures, templates, and governance tools to ensure consistency and compliance across all projects.
  • Portfolio Oversight: Oversee the entire project portfolio, including prioritization, progress monitoring, resource allocation, risk management, and ensuring strategic and financial objectives are met.
  • Reporting & Communication: Provide clear, meaningful, and periodic reports to senior management and stakeholders on project health, performance against benchmarks, risks, and opportunities.
  • Support & Mentoring: Guide and monitor project managers and their teams, providing necessary support to ensure best practices are followed. Organize training sessions to build internal capabilities.
  • Process Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives for project management processes, adopting Agile, traditional, or hybrid methodologies as per project needs.
  • Budget & Timeline Management: Monitor overall project budgets and schedules, intervening to address significant variances.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this leadership role, the ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:

  • Academic Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree or advanced professional certifications are a strong advantage.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years in a PMO leadership role or a high-level consulting role within a complex corporate environment.
  • Professional Certifications: Holding recognized project management certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP (Program Management Professional) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) is typically essential or a significant competitive advantage.
  • Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of project management methodologies (PMBOK, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum) and related tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana, or specialized PPM tools).
  • Soft Skills & Leadership Abilities:
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
    • Strong analytical and complex problem-solving abilities.
    • Leadership skills to motivate teams and drive organizational change.
    • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Business acumen and a results-driven focus.
