Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be entrusted with a range of vital tasks supporting the company's daily operations and projects. Core responsibilities will include:
- Logistics Planning & Coordination: Overseeing the flow of goods, equipment, and materials to and from project sites, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
- Warehouse & Inventory Management: Monitoring stock levels of raw materials and equipment, organizing receiving, storage, and dispatch operations, and maintaining accurate records.
- Vendor & Carrier Management: Communicating and coordinating with material suppliers and transportation service providers (carriers) to secure best rates and monitor service performance.
- Documentation & Shipping: Preparing and organizing all necessary documentation for shipping, customs, and clearance, including Bills of Lading (BL), Packing Lists, and Certificates of Origin.
- Monitoring & Tracking: Tracking shipments of materials and equipment using appropriate tracking systems and reporting any potential delays or issues to management and project teams.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensuring all logistics operations comply with local Bahrain regulations and the company's safety standards.
- Administrative Support: Providing administrative support to the logistics department and senior management, preparing periodic reports on expenses, inventory levels, and vendor performance.
- For Higher Level (Assistant Logistics Manager): Assisting in developing operational improvement strategies, supervising a small logistics team, and participating in budgeting and negotiating key contracts with suppliers.
Qualifications & Essential Requirements
To qualify for this opportunity, you should meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain & Logistics, or a related field.
- Work Experience:
- For Logistics Officer role: Minimum 3 to 5 years of practical experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably within the contracting or related industries.
- For Assistant Logistics Manager role: Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in logistics, with proven supervisory experience.
- Technical Skills:
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and warehouse management software.
- Strong understanding of international shipping procedures and customs regulations.
- Personal Skills:
- Exceptional organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, in Arabic and English.
- Team spirit and the ability to work independently.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
