IT Manager - Maitri Global Private Limited

Maitri Global Private Limited is actively recruiting for the position of IT Manager at its headquarters in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. This role represents a critical leadership position within the company's organizational structure, where the incumbent will be responsible for the strategic and operational planning of all aspects of the IT infrastructure and technologies supporting the company's business.

Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The IT Manager will lead the technical team and be directly accountable for ensuring the smooth operation and efficiency of all systems, networks, and IT services. The primary responsibilities for this role include:

  • Leadership and Management: Leading and directing the IT team, developing individual performance plans for team members, and ensuring the highest standards of performance and efficiency are met.
  • Strategic Infrastructure Management: Developing and implementing the IT strategy in alignment with the company's business objectives. This includes budget planning, managing major technical projects, and selecting and approving new technologies.
  • Cybersecurity and Data Protection: Designing and enforcing robust security policies to protect the company's information assets and sensitive data from internal and external threats. The IT Manager ensures compliance with any relevant local or international data protection regulations.
  • Systems and Network Administration: Overseeing the operation and maintenance of servers, storage systems, wired and wireless networks, unified communication systems, and ensuring business continuity with 99.9% service availability.
  • User Support and Troubleshooting: Establishing and developing an effective technical support system for end-users, ensuring that reported issues and technical problems are resolved promptly with minimal impact on productivity.
  • Vendor Management: Evaluating, selecting, and managing relationships with hardware, software, and IT service vendors, negotiating contracts to ensure the best possible value.
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Developing and testing Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Plans (BCP) to ensure the company's operational resilience under any emergency circumstances.

Qualifications and Core Requirements

To be eligible for this leadership opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or equivalent. A Master's degree or advanced professional certifications (e.g., CISM, CISSP, PMP, ITIL) are a strong competitive advantage.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of 8 to 10 years of professional experience in the IT field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role (Manager or Head of Department). Experience in a multinational corporation or large institution is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proven and in-depth knowledge of:
    • Network infrastructure management (Cisco, Juniper).
    • Server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
    • Cloud computing platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
    • Information security and vulnerability management.
    • Database management systems (SQL Server, Oracle).
    • Unified communication systems (VoIP).
  • Personal and Leadership Skills:
    • Excellent leadership and managerial skills with the ability to motivate a team.
    • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English.
    • Ability to analyze complex problems and make strategic decisions under pressure.
    • Negotiation skills and budget management.
    • Strong customer service and support orientation.
