Lead Procurement Officer at Boilen Energy

Job Overview

The Lead Procurement Officer will hold a pivotal role within the company's operational structure, responsible for leading and executing procurement strategies to ensure the company acquires necessary materials and services to the highest quality standards and best financial value. This role works closely with various departments such as Engineering, Projects, Operations, and Finance to support the company's operational and financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies aligned with Boilen Energy's goals.
• Lead the end-to-end procurement process, from needs identification and specification, through supplier sourcing and negotiation, to purchase order issuance and delivery follow-up.
• Manage supplier relationships, including performance evaluation and ensuring compliance with contract terms and company standards.
• Conduct market analysis to identify pricing trends and source new suppliers to enhance the supply chain.
• Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with the company's internal regulations and procurement policies.
• Prepare regular reports and analyses on procurement performance and achieved savings for company management.
• Supervise, guide, and develop the procurement team (if part of the structure).

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional procurement certifications (e.g., CIPS) are a plus.
• Proven work experience of at least 5 to 7 years in procurement, with a strong preference for experience in the energy, oil & gas, heavy engineering industries, or construction sector.
• In-depth knowledge of procurement and supply chain management principles and practices.
• Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High proficiency in using computer software and procurement applications (ERP like SAP or Oracle).
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work in a team and a dynamic environment.
• Full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken). Knowledge of Arabic is an additional advantage.
