Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The Audit Manager will play a pivotal role in leading and executing high-quality audit and assurance engagements. The core responsibilities within EY's Kuwait team will include:

• Leading Audit Teams: Directly supervise audit teams through all phases of the audit process, from planning to final reporting, ensuring adherence to deadlines, professional standards (International Standards on Auditing), and EY's global methodologies.
• Managing Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with new and existing clients. Gain a deep understanding of their businesses, identify their needs, and deliver valuable insights that go beyond basic compliance to help our clients grow and thrive.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance: Assume ultimate responsibility for the quality of audit deliverables, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of work performed. Guarantee full compliance with local regulations in the State of Kuwait and EY's global policies.
• Team Development: Mentor, coach, and review the work of senior auditors and staff, contributing to their professional growth and building team capability. Foster a culture of learning and excellence within the practice.
• Financial Analysis & Risk Assessment: Analyze complex financial statements and evaluate internal control risks. Identify key risk areas and design effective audit procedures to address them.
• Business Development Contribution: Contribute to business development activities, including preparing service proposals for prospective clients and participating in firm-wide marketing initiatives.

Qualifications & Essential Requirements

To qualify for this leadership opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

• Academic Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional accounting certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) or equivalent is highly essential.
• Professional Experience: A minimum of 7 to 9 years of proven experience in external audit, with a significant portion gained within a major global or regional audit firm (Big 4 or equivalent). Prior experience in a supervisory role (as a Manager or Senior Supervisor) is required.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of International Auditing Standards (ISA), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and local regulatory frameworks in Kuwait and the GCC.
• Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve objectives in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written) in English and Arabic.
• Personal Attributes: Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities. High degree of professional integrity and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and challenges simultaneously.
