Job Description

The engineering department is looking for a proficient Mechanical Design Engineer to work on various oil and gas projects in Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and preparing mechanical designs for equipment, piping systems, and support structures. This role requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs meet technical standards and international specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering drawings and mechanical designs using advanced design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
• Perform necessary engineering calculations to ensure design safety and efficiency.
• Review and approve designs submitted by contractors and suppliers.
• Participate in technical feasibility studies and design alternative evaluations.
• Prepare technical reports and specification documents.
• Collaborate with procurement and construction teams to ensure design implementation aligns with plans.
• Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards throughout all work phases.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the oil and gas sector.
• Proficiency in engineering design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of international standards such as ASME, API, and ASTM.
• Excellent communication skills in English (both written and spoken).
• Ability to work in a team and manage multiple tasks.
• Experience in Gulf region projects is an added advantage.
