Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The Electrical Site Engineer will be directly responsible for overseeing all electrical aspects of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects on-site. Key responsibilities include:

• Site Supervision: Directly supervise the work of contractors and subcontractors to ensure all electrical installations are executed in strict compliance with approved technical specifications, design drawings, and the highest standards of quality and safety.
• Planning & Coordination: Coordinate with the Project Manager, design team, and engineers from other disciplines (Mechanical, Plumbing) to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other building systems.
• Quality & Safety Control: Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with local Dubai building codes (such as Dubai Municipality regulations) and relevant international standards. Identify and resolve any work deficiencies or non-conformities.
• Schedule Management: Assist in planning electrical work schedules and monitor progress to ensure adherence to project deadlines.
• Document Review: Review electrical drawings, load calculations, cable routing layouts, and material specifications prior to and during execution.
• Testing & Commissioning: Oversee the testing of electrical systems (e.g., continuity tests, insulation resistance tests, load tests) and ensure proper system commissioning before handover.
• Reporting: Prepare daily and weekly reports on work progress, site issues, material requirements, and any other site-related matters.

Qualifications & Requirements

To qualify for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from a recognized university.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in MEP electrical engineering, with a proven track record of working on-site for major construction projects in the UAE, preferably in Dubai.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of power distribution systems, lighting, low-current systems (security, communications, control), lightning protection, and HVAC control systems.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of applicable building codes and electrical regulations in the Emirate of Dubai and the UAE.
• Personal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (Arabic & English), leadership and team-working abilities, strong problem-solving skills, and the capacity to work under pressure.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in relevant computer software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project, MS Office Suite).
