Job Description and Key Responsibilities
The Warehouse Manager will hold the leadership position responsible for the complete oversight of all warehouse activities. The core focus will be on ensuring seamless operations while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. Direct responsibilities include:
- Leadership & Development: Direct supervision of the warehouse workforce, including supervisors and floor staff. Responsibility for training, mentoring, performance evaluation, and building a cohesive, effective team.
- Daily Operations Management: Planning, organizing, and controlling all activities within the warehouse, including goods receipt, storage, picking, packing, shipment preparation, and distribution.
- Inventory Control: Ensuring 100% accuracy of inventory records through regular and periodic cycle counts. Implementing and utilizing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to optimize tracking and control processes.
- Safety & Compliance: Primary responsibility for enforcing and implementing all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations in the warehouse setting. Ensuring operations comply with internal policies and local regulatory standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvement to increase productivity, reduce costs, and minimize waste. Proposing and implementing solutions to streamline logistical workflows.
- Budget & Cost Management: Contributing to departmental budgeting and monitoring operational expenditures to ensure work stays within financial allocations.
- Communication & Coordination: Acting as the central liaison between the warehouse department and other company divisions such as Sales, Procurement, and Customer Service to ensure timely order fulfillment.
Qualifications and Core Requirements
To be a successful candidate for this leadership role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field. Equivalent extensive and proven practical experience may be considered.
- Practical Experience: Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in warehouse or logistics operations management, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Advanced skills in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team to achieve targets. Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, prepare reports, and make quick, effective decisions based on facts.
- Standards Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of warehouse safety practices (e.g., material handling, lifting equipment) and local logistics standards in the UAE.
- Language: Proficiency in English for written and verbal communication is essential. Knowledge of Arabic is a strong additional advantage.
