Job Description and Responsibilities

The NOC Engineer will be responsible for the continuous monitoring and oversight of the company's network and systems infrastructure performance and health. The core responsibilities of this position include:

• Continuous Monitoring: Monitoring the performance of networks, servers, and applications using specialized tools for early detection of faults or performance degradation.
• Incident Management and Response: Acting as the first line of defense in receiving, categorizing, and documenting network and system incidents. The engineer will be tasked with initiating initial response procedures and escalating issues to specialized teams when necessary.
• Ensuring Operational Continuity: Contributing to achieving Service Level Agreement (SLA) objectives through rapid incident response and working to resolve issues within defined timeframes.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of incidents and actions taken, and preparing periodic reports on system performance, uptime, and notable incidents.
• Collaboration with Teams: Working closely with network engineering, IT systems, and technical support teams to ensure a systematic and coordinated problem resolution.
• Scheduled Change Implementation: Assisting in the implementation of scheduled maintenance changes to systems during off-peak hours and meticulously monitoring the outcomes of these changes.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be eligible for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Communications Engineering, or equivalent.
• Work Experience: Proven practical experience of 2 to 5 years in a similar role as a NOC Engineer or Technician, or in IT infrastructure management and maintenance.
• Technical Knowledge:
  • Deep understanding of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF).
  • Experience in system monitoring using tools like Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, or similar.
  • Knowledge of operating systems (Linux/Windows Server).
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).
  • Ability to analyze system logs and diagnose faults.
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in shift rotations, including nights and weekends.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Effective teamwork.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to standards.
• Professional Certifications (A Strong Plus): Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, ITIL Foundation, or system operator certifications are considered a strong advantage.
