Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The appointed Civil Planning Engineer will be responsible for a range of critical tasks to ensure projects run according to schedule and budget. Core duties include:

• Developing Project Plans and Schedules: Creating comprehensive project plans and detailed timelines (e.g., Gantt charts, critical paths) for civil engineering projects from design through to delivery.
• Resource Allocation: Effectively planning and allocating human resources, equipment, and materials to meet project milestones.
• Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Continuously tracking project progress, comparing actual achievements against planned baselines, and preparing regular (weekly/monthly) reports highlighting project status, any variances, and proposed recovery plans.

• Team Coordination: Working closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure integration and consistency across all project phases.

• Planning Software Utilization: Proficiency in using specialized project planning software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be eligible for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of practical experience in a similar planning engineer role, preferably on infrastructure or construction projects within the Gulf region.
• Technical Skills:
  • Excellent command of Primavera P6 software (a mandatory requirement).
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Project and the Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel).
  • In-depth understanding of project management methodologies and procedures.
