Project Engineer – Irrigation & Landscape
Desert Group Investment LLC is actively seeking a qualified Project Engineer specializing in Irrigation and Landscape to join their operations in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The Project Engineer will be responsible for the technical and administrative oversight of irrigation and landscape projects from initial design through to final handover. Key duties include:
- Site Supervision: Leading and coordinating the on-site execution of irrigation and landscape projects, ensuring strict adherence to technical specifications and the highest quality standards.
- Planning & Scheduling: Developing detailed project plans and realistic timelines, conducting daily progress monitoring to ensure completion within the scheduled timeframe and approved budget.
- Resource Management: Supervising work crews and subcontractors, and efficiently managing the procurement of necessary project materials and equipment.
- Quality & Safety Control: Implementing quality control programs and inspecting work at all stages, while ensuring full compliance with occupational health and safety regulations on-site.
- Client & Stakeholder Coordination: Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, engineering consultants, and suppliers, providing regular progress reports.
- Technical Problem-Solving: Analyzing technical challenges that arise during execution and proposing practical, effective solutions.
- Technical Studies: Contributing to the preparation of technical studies and execution drawings related to irrigation systems and landscape design.
Qualifications & Requirements
To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, or a closely related engineering field.
- Work Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in managing and executing irrigation and/or landscape projects. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the Bahraini or Gulf market.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of modern irrigation systems (sprinkler, drip, automated controls), plant materials suitable for the local environment, and relevant construction methodologies.
- Managerial Skills: Proven ability in project management, budgeting, cost control, and effective time management.
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong leadership and team collaboration abilities, and proactive problem-solving skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in basic computer software and engineering design applications such as AutoCAD.
- Language: Fluency in English for both written and verbal communication. Knowledge of Arabic is a significant advantage.
