Job Overview

The Registrar in Obstetrics & Gynecology holds a pivotal role within the medical team, responsible for providing specialized, high-quality medical care to patients across all aspects of women's health. This includes antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of both surgical and non-surgical gynecological conditions. Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide direct medical care to patients in outpatient clinics and inpatient wards within the OB/GYN specialty.
  • Participate in medical on-call duties and provide emergency care coverage on a 24/7 basis.
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic examinations, such as ultrasound scans.
  • Assist in performing obstetric and gynecological surgical procedures under consultant supervision.
  • Manage pre-operative and post-operative patient care.
  • Accurately document patient history, examination findings, and treatment plans in electronic medical records.
  • Participate in continuous medical education sessions, in-house seminars, and conferences.
  • Supervise and train resident doctors and medical students as required.
  • Adhere to the highest standards of medical safety, professional ethics, and Taiba Hospital's established policies.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from a recognized university.
  • Completion of a medical internship (housemanship).
  • Possession of a recognized Postgraduate Specialist Qualification (Board Certification) in Obstetrics & Gynecology, or being in the final stages of training to obtain it.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of post-qualification practical experience in the specialty, with preference given to experience in tertiary care hospitals.
  • Valid licensure from the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health or immediate eligibility to obtain it is a fundamental prerequisite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential. Knowledge of Arabic is a distinct advantage.
