Job Description
The SAP Technical Architect will be responsible for the technical leadership and strategic planning of the SAP environment within the organization. The role will focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining the technical infrastructure for SAP systems, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and end-user needs. He/She will work closely with business teams, developers, and system administrators to translate requirements into effective, scalable technical solutions.
Key Expected Responsibilities:
- Architectural Design: Lead the design and planning of the overall technical infrastructure for SAP solutions (e.g., SAP ECC, S/4HANA, BW, CRM, etc.).
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and expertise to the SAP development and implementation team throughout the project lifecycle.
- Integration & Upgrades: Design and implement seamless integration strategies between SAP systems and other external systems. Lead and plan SAP upgrade projects.
- Quality & Performance Assurance: Establish high-performance standards and ensure system stability, security, and availability. Conduct performance reviews and analyses and propose optimizations.
- Documentation & Governance: Create and maintain comprehensive technical architecture documentation, blueprints, and best practices.
- Support & Consulting: Act as an internal technical consultant for the IT team and business units.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:
Educational Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. A higher degree (Master’s) is an added advantage.
- Recognized SAP technical certifications (e.g., in Development, Basis, or Integration) are highly crucial and will give the candidate a strong preference.
Professional Experience:
- Proven hands-on experience of at least 8 to 10 years in SAP systems, with a minimum of 3 years in an SAP Technical Architect role or a similar technical leadership position.
- Deep and comprehensive expertise in the SAP technology stack (ABAP, FIORI, NetWeaver, PI/PO, HANA, Basis Administration).
- Hands-on experience in designing and implementing S/4HANA solutions is a significant advantage.
- Experience in managing large, complex SAP projects through their full lifecycle.
Personal & Professional Skills:
- Strong leadership and consultative skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English.
- Strong understanding of information security and infrastructure management best practices.
