Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The selected engineer will occupy a pivotal role within the cybersecurity team, responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive protection strategies. Core responsibilities include:

• Design & Implementation of Security Solutions: Lead efforts to design and deploy advanced security systems and tools (e.g., firewalls, IPS/IDS, SIEM) to ensure the protection of the company's technological infrastructure.
• Incident Management & Response: Lead the security incident response team, conducting necessary investigations to contain any breaches, perform root cause analysis, and develop recovery and prevention plans.
• Vulnerability Assessment & Penetration Testing: Conduct periodic security assessments of systems and networks to identify vulnerabilities and security gaps. Plan and oversee ethical penetration testing operations to simulate real attacks and test defense resilience.
• Policy & Procedure Development: Develop and update cybersecurity policies and procedures in line with global best practices (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST) and local standards in Qatar.
• Training & Awareness: Lead security awareness initiatives for company staff to foster a security-conscious culture and ensure compliance with established procedures.
• Research & Development: Stay abreast of the latest cyber threats and emerging security technologies, proposing innovative solutions to enhance the company's overall security posture.

Qualifications & Essential Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Information Security, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or equivalent. Advanced degrees are a plus.
• Work Experience: Minimum of 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, with a strong focus on engineering and operational roles. Experience in large enterprise environments is a significant advantage.
• Professional Certifications: Possession of industry-recognized certifications such as:
  • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
  • CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
  • CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)
  • Or advanced certifications from vendors like Cisco (CCNP Security), Palo Alto, or Fortinet.
• Technical Skills: Deep proficiency in:
  • Operating Systems (Linux, Windows).
  • Network protocols and security.
  • Cryptography and Identity & Access Management (IAM).
  • Common cybersecurity tools (SIEM, EDR, DLP).
• Soft Skills: Excellent leadership abilities, effective communication skills (verbal and written) in both Arabic and English, and the capacity to work under pressure and make decisive actions during emergencies.
