Job Description

Oryx Universal College in Doha, Qatar, is announcing an excellent career opportunity for specialists in teaching Academic English. The college is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Senior Lecturer or Lecturer in the Academic English Skills department.

This position is aimed at experienced academics in teaching English as a second or foreign language, with a focus on preparing students for undergraduate and postgraduate programs taught in English. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering academic English courses that enhance students' reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach Academic English courses to undergraduate and pre-university students.
• Develop curricula and instructional materials in line with college standards.
• Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to improve language proficiency.
• Participate in departmental academic and administrative activities.
• Supervise students and provide individual and group academic support.
• Contribute to the development of English language programs and quality assurance.

Required Qualifications

• Master's or PhD degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience teaching Academic English in higher education institutions.
• Native or near-native proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• Experience using educational technology and e-learning platforms.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work within a multicultural team.
