Job Description

As a Senior Legal Counsel at QatarEnergy, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and support to the company on a wide range of legal matters. Key responsibilities include:

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts and agreements, including major project contracts and partnership agreements.
• Providing legal advice to various departments on regulatory compliance and relevant local and international laws related to the energy sector.
• Managing legal disputes and litigation, working with external counsel as needed.
• Participating in the development of internal legal policies and procedures.
• Supporting teams in assessing legal risks and providing innovative and effective solutions.
• Monitoring legislative and regulatory developments in Qatar and the region and assessing their impact on the company's business.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized university. A Master of Laws (LLM) or additional professional qualifications are preferred.
• Experience: A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in commercial and energy law, preferably within major energy companies or international law firms.
• Licensing: Must be licensed to practice law in their home country or a recognized jurisdiction.
• Language Skills: Excellent command of English (both written and spoken). Proficiency in Arabic is a strong plus.
• Personal Skills: Excellent analytical and negotiation skills, ability to work under pressure, effective communication skills, and the ability to work within a multicultural team.
• Knowledge: Deep understanding of energy and gas laws, international commercial contracts, labor laws, and compliance.
