Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Senior Piping Engineer will be stationed at the project site or head office, bearing responsibility for the technical and administrative aspects of piping systems within engineering projects. Core duties include:

• Technical Leadership: Overseeing all activities related to the design, installation, and inspection of project piping systems, ensuring strict compliance with international specifications and codes (e.g., ASME, ANSI, API) and local standards.
• Design Management: Reviewing and approving piping drawings and details (P&IDs, layout drawings, isometrics) prepared by the design team or contractors.
• Project Coordination: Working closely with other engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation & Control) to ensure seamless integration of piping systems with other project components.
• Procurement Management & Support: Providing technical support during the procurement phase, including reviewing Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE) for piping materials and equipment (pipes, valves, fittings, supports) and performing technical evaluations of vendor offers.
• Quality & Safety Assurance: Ensuring all piping work is executed according to the highest quality and safety standards, participating in risk assessments and quality control plans.
• Reporting: Preparing technical and progress reports related to piping activities and presenting them to project management.
• Team Mentorship: Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior piping engineers and site technicians.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
• Experience: A minimum of 8 to 12 years of hands-on experience in piping engineering, with a strong focus on oil & gas, petrochemical, or major industrial plant projects. Experience in the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia, is a significant advantage.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of piping industry codes and standards (ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, etc.), Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software like AutoCAD, and stress analysis software such as CAESAR II.
• Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork abilities, coupled with strong problem-solving and time-management skills. The candidate must be able to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines.
• Language: Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential. Knowledge of Arabic is an additional advantage.
