Job Description
The Senior Projects Risk Engineer (Central) will play a pivotal role within the central support framework of the risk management team. The incumbent will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving risk management systems and procedures across a portfolio of major projects. This role operates within a strategic framework aimed at ensuring potential risks are proactively identified, analyzed, and mitigated, thereby contributing to project objectives in terms of quality, time, and cost.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the overall project risk management framework, aligning with international best practices (e.g., ISO 31000) and client requirements.
- Lead and facilitate risk identification sessions (workshops) with project teams and stakeholders.
- Perform quantitative and qualitative risk analysis using specialized tools and software (e.g., @risk, Pertmaster, or similar) to estimate potential impact on schedule and budget.
- Prepare clear, comprehensive risk status reports and dashboards for senior management and decision-makers.
- Monitor risk treatment plans and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide guidance and training to project delivery teams on risk management methodologies and procedures.
- Work closely with project managers, schedulers, and cost teams to integrate risk management into all project lifecycle phases.
- Review contracts and project documents to identify risk-prone clauses and propose mitigation strategies.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be a successful candidate for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
Educational Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) from an accredited university. A Master's degree in Project Management or Risk Management will be a strong advantage.
- Recognized professional certifications such as: Certified Project Risk Professional (CPRP), PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or equivalents.
Professional Experience:
- Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in project risk management, with a strong focus on major infrastructure projects (e.g., transportation, energy, megabuildings, mixed-use developments).
- Proven experience working in a "central support" or "center of excellence" environment providing advisory services to support multiple projects concurrently.
- In-depth knowledge of Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) tools and scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6).
- Previous work experience in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region is a significant advantage.
Personal and Professional Skills:
- Exceptional analytical and deductive reasoning skills.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills, both written and verbal, in English. Arabic language skills are beneficial.
- Strong leadership and facilitation skills for meetings and workshops with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining effective coordination with distributed teams.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive mindset.
