Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The Site Architect will primarily serve as the critical link between theoretical design and practical on-site execution. The focus will be on ensuring precise alignment between architectural plans and field implementation while upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and aesthetics. Key responsibilities include:

• On-Site Technical Supervision: Conducting daily oversight of construction activities to ensure compliance with approved design specifications, technical standards, and local Bahraini regulations.
• Design-Implementation Coordination: Acting as the central liaison between the design office (consultants) and on-site contractors to ensure smooth information flow and resolve any design conflicts or issues that arise during construction.
• Drawing and Plan Review: Scrutinizing architectural, structural, and detail drawings, proposing practical, implementable improvements where necessary.
• Technical Reporting: Documenting work progress and preparing weekly and monthly project status reports, highlighting any deviations from the schedule or specifications.
• Quality Control: Ensuring all materials used and construction methods adhere to contract specifications and conducting quality inspections at various project stages.
• Problem-Solving Support: Actively participating in identifying technical solutions for on-site problems, in coordination with other engineering teams (structural, MEP).
• Compliance Assurance: Ensuring all work complies with municipal regulations, applicable building codes in Bahrain, as well as sustainability and safety standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this pivotal role at Edamah, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Architecture from a recognized university. A Master's degree will be an added advantage.
• Work Experience: Minimum 5 to 7 years of practical experience in architecture, with a significant portion in a similar role as a Site Architect or Architectural Supervisor on medium to large-scale construction projects. Experience in real estate development projects (residential, commercial, mixed-use) is essential.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, specifically Autodesk Revit. Good knowledge of project management software like Primavera P6 or MS Project is beneficial.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of construction phases, building materials, structural systems, and Bahraini building regulations.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (Arabic & English), ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively. The candidate must possess a team spirit and demonstrate leadership and supervisory capabilities.
• Professional Certification: Possession of a registered professional record or working towards membership of a recognized architectural professional body (e.g., Bahrain Society of Engineers) is highly desirable.
