Job Description
The Civil Supervisor will hold a pivotal field-based position, being directly responsible for the daily supervision of all civil activities on the project site. Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Technical Supervision: Directly supervise the work of contractors and laborers on the construction site, ensuring all civil works (concreting, steel fixing, roads, earthworks, utilities, etc.) are executed per approved technical specifications and engineering drawings.
- Quality & Safety Control: Conduct routine inspections to ensure materials and workmanship comply with required specifications. Also holds major responsibility for implementing and enforcing all occupational health and safety procedures on-site to prevent accidents.
- Planning & Monitoring: Assist in planning the schedule for daily and weekly activities, monitor work progress, and report any delays or technical obstacles.
- Coordination & Reporting: Coordinate with various departments and the engineering team. Prepare daily and weekly reports on work progress, site conditions, material consumption, and any technical observations.
- Quantity Monitoring: Verify quantities of work executed by contractors in preparation for payment applications and monitor material inventory on site.
- Problem Solving: Address emergent technical problems on site and propose appropriate solutions in consultation with responsible engineers.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be eligible for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a Higher Technical Diploma (Technology) in Civil Engineering or Construction.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 to 7 years of practical experience in supervising construction sites and civil projects. Experience in infrastructure projects or large residential/commercial buildings is preferred.
- Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of construction specifications, materials, and structural methods. Proficiency in reading and understanding complex engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Personal Skills: Strong leadership ability to manage a workforce. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to work under pressure and in site environment conditions. Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Additional Requirements: Good knowledge of construction site safety systems (e.g., OSHA or local equivalents). Proficiency in using computers and basic software (e.g., MS Office). Proficiency in English (reading and writing) is a significant advantage.

The role is fully field-based and requires presence at construction project sites across various locations in Kuwait.
