Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Senior Electrical Engineer will hold a leadership and technical position within a specialized team. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Technical Supervision and Leadership: Providing specialized technical expertise and overseeing all aspects related to electrical systems across the Authority's diverse investment projects.
  • System Planning and Design: Contributing to the planning and design phases of new projects, reviewing electrical drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with international standards and best practices.
  • Project Management and Development: Active participation in managing infrastructure and energy projects, from the initial study phase through to delivery and commissioning, while ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Execution Oversight: Supervising the work of contractors and consultants on-site to ensure electrical works are executed according to agreed specifications, timelines, and budgets.
  • Maintenance and Improvement: Developing and implementing preventive maintenance plans for existing electrical systems, and proposing solutions for enhancing efficiency and reliability.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensuring full compliance with all local and international electrical safety regulations and promoting a strong safety culture in the workplace.
  • Reporting: Preparing periodic technical reports and delivering presentations to senior management on project progress, challenges, and proposed solutions.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

To be eligible for this leadership role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. A Master's degree or advanced professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CEng) is a strong advantage.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 8 to 10 years of practical experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on the design and/or management of major infrastructure or energy projects. Previous experience in government entities or sovereign wealth funds is a significant plus.
  • Technical Skills: Deep proficiency in electrical system design principles (distribution, control, lighting, protection), and comprehensive knowledge of international standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC). Experience with engineering design software such as AutoCAD and ETAP or similar.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent leadership abilities and effective verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English. Ability to work within a team and manage relationships with multiple stakeholders.
