This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless integration and effective communication between various stakeholders in the company's complex and vital engineering projects.
Job Description
The Sr. Engineer Project Interface will be responsible for managing and coordinating all project interfaces between the company's internal departments, contractors, suppliers, and any other external parties. This role serves as a cornerstone in preventing conflicts, facilitating information flow, and ensuring project objectives are met within the specified schedule, budget, and required work quality.
Key responsibilities are expected to include:
- Developing and implementing Project Interface Management Plans for new and existing projects.
- Acting as the central liaison and coordinating between design, procurement, construction, operations, and safety teams.
- Identifying, registering, tracking, and resolving all project interface items throughout the project lifecycle.
- Convening and chairing interface coordination meetings with all relevant stakeholders to ensure clear communication and proactive issue resolution.
- Ensuring compliance with all technical requirements, safety standards, and regulatory regulations across all work interfaces.
- Preparing periodic reports on interface management status for supervisors and senior management.
- Contributing to feasibility studies and early project planning from an interface coordination perspective.
- Overseeing technical documents and drawings, ensuring consistency among all parties.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be a successful candidate for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or a related field) from a recognized university. A Master's degree will be an added advantage.
- Experience: Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in engineering project management within the oil & gas or heavy industries sector, with a strong focus on Project Interface Management.
- Technical Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of the oil & gas project lifecycle (from concept to operations).
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices in interface management.
- Familiarity with project management and document management systems.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
- Personal Skills:
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) in both Arabic and English.
- Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong planning, organizational, and priority management abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple stakeholder relationships.
- Team spirit with leadership and influencing capabilities.
