  • Be at serious risk due to war or armed conflict
  • Have left your home country (or moved within it) in the last 3 years due to conflict
  • Be unable to start or complete a university degree in your home country
  • Have never studied in the UK or EU before
  • Not currently residing in the UK or EU
  • Have applied for an undergraduate course starting September 2026 at the University of Manchester via UCAS
  • Be able to explain why you want to study your chosen course
  • Have performed well in previous studies
  • Meet the English language requirements for your chosen programme

  • Online scholarship application form (SmartSurvey)
  • UCAS application for undergraduate programme at University of Manchester
  • Personal statement explaining how you pursued education despite challenges
  • Reference letter from someone who has known you for at least 2 years and is a person of good standing (PDF format)
  • Previous academic certificates and transcripts (PDF format)
  • Evidence of humanitarian situation or conflict impact
  • Proof of ability to meet English language requirements (Duolingo results not accepted)
