Adıyaman University (briefly ADYÜ) was established with law no. 5467 dated March 1, 2006 and published in the Official Gazette No. 26111 dated March 17, 2006 by combining academic departments of 3 different universities (Gaziantep University Adıyaman Vocational and Technical Education Faculty, Faculty of Education, Besni Vocational High School and Gölbaşı Vocational School; Faculty of Arts and Sciences, School of Health and Vocational School of İnönü University and Kâhta Vocational School of Harran University) and by founding 2 new institutes (Institute of Science and Technology, Institute of Social Sciences). Today ADYÜ (July 2018) has 3 institutes, 13 faculties, 1 conservatory, 3 higher schools, 6 vocational schools, 14 application and research centers and more than 20 thousand students.
In our University, there are 14 Faculties and, 8 Vocational School.

- Receipt indicating that student contribution is deposited
- Test Results (high school exit exam etc.)
- Foreign Student Selection Exam (YÖS), equivalent (ABITUR, International Baccalaureate, SAT1, ACT V. B) Exam Result Certificate
- Foreign identification numbers and residence information for candidates who do not have a copy of passport and residence document
- For Turkish nationals, approved certificate showing that all of high school education has been done abroad (high school approved certificate or transcript covering whole duration of the education)
- Health Report for some faculties
- Original of High School Diploma and notarized or certified translated copy from Embassy of Turkey or Turkish Consulate
- Certificate of identity register copy for Turkish Nationals with double citizenship
