Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The appointed Accountant at NAPCO will undertake a range of pivotal tasks that support the stability and efficiency of the company's financial operations. Core responsibilities include:

  • Daily Accounts Management: Recording accounting entries accurately and meticulously, ensuring the integrity and correctness of financial data entered into the system.
  • Assistance in Financial Statement Preparation: Participating in the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements at the end of each financial period.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Performing periodic reconciliations of bank accounts and verifying that company balances match bank statements.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable Management: Tracking supplier invoices and ensuring timely payments, as well as following up on client receivables and issuing invoices.
  • Tax Compliance: Assisting in the preparation and filing of required tax returns in accordance with applicable laws and regulations in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
  • Audit Process Contributions: Providing required data and documentation during internal or external audit processes and cooperating with auditors.
  • Financial Data Analysis: Assisting in cost and expense analysis and providing reports to aid management decision-making.
  • Financial Archiving: Organizing and securely maintaining financial documents and records in an orderly manner for easy retrieval.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional accounting certifications (e.g., CMA, CPA) are a strong advantage.
  • Work Experience: Proven practical experience of at least 3 to 5 years in the accounting field, with preference given to experience in major industrial or trading companies or an environment similar to NAPCO's.
  • Technical Skills: Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel. Practical knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems like SAP or Oracle is a significant advantage.
  • Personal Skills: High accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to manage time and handle pressure. The candidate must possess high integrity and reliability.
  • Analytical Skills: The ability to analyze numbers and financial data and present clear summaries.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and local tax laws in Bahrain.
  • Language: Proficiency in written and spoken English. Knowledge of Arabic is an additional advantage.
