Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The appointed Consultant will assume a leadership role within the Reproductive Medicine and IVF department, focusing on delivering exceptional patient care. Core responsibilities will include:
- Patient Assessment & Diagnosis: Conducting comprehensive evaluations of couples facing infertility issues, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools to accurately identify underlying causes.
- Treatment Planning & Execution: Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans encompassing a full range of Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART), including Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF), and Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI).
- Specialized Medical Procedures: Performing specialized surgical and clinical procedures integral to fertility treatments, such as oocyte retrieval and embryo transfer.
- Clinical Leadership & Supervision: Providing supervision and guidance to a multidisciplinary team within the clinic or department, ensuring all services adhere to the highest standards of quality and patient safety.
- Patient Counseling & Communication: Offering empathetic counseling and support to couples, clearly explaining treatment options, procedures, success rates, and associated risks.
- Ethical & Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring strict adherence to medical ethics and all local and international clinical practice guidelines and regulations governing reproductive medicine.
Requirements & Qualifications
To be eligible for this senior role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: An MBBS or equivalent medical degree, followed by a specialization (Board Certification) in Obstetrics and Gynecology. This must be supplemented by a recognized fellowship or advanced training in Reproductive Medicine & IVF.
- Licensing: Candidates must possess a valid medical license to practice from the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) in the Kingdom of Bahrain, or be immediately eligible to obtain one.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 to 7 years of post-specialization experience, with a proven and successful track record in managing IVF cases independently.
- Personal Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, a high degree of empathy, and strong leadership abilities to manage and inspire a team.
- Language: Proficiency in English for both written and verbal communication. Knowledge of Arabic is a significant advantage.
