Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The Testing & Commissioning Engineer will be an integral part of the project team and will be entrusted with the following responsibilities:

• Planning and Executing Test Plans: Developing comprehensive strategies for testing electrical, mechanical, or control systems, including defining requirements, tools, and timelines.
• Conducting Field and Functional Tests: Performing pre-commissioning tests, load tests, and functional performance tests on new or modified equipment and systems.
• Commissioning and Handover Operations: Overseeing the initial start-up of systems, monitoring their performance during the trial operation phase, and ensuring a seamless transition to full operation.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Accurately recording test data, analyzing results to identify any deviations from specifications, and preparing detailed technical reports documenting all testing and commissioning phases.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with design engineers, project managers, contractors, and plant operators to resolve any technical issues that arise during testing and commissioning.
• Compliance Assurance: Ensuring full compliance with local and international safety standards, quality regulations, and contractually agreed specifications.

Qualifications & Core Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this position, you should meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Professional Experience: Proven hands-on experience of 3 to 7 years in testing and commissioning industrial systems or infrastructure projects. Preference is given to experience in sectors such as power (conventional and renewable), oil & gas, water desalination, or construction.
• Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of testing protocols, the ability to read engineering schematics and drawings, and a strong understanding of safety systems (e.g., HSE).
• Soft Skills: Excellent analytical abilities, strong attention to detail, and powerful written communication and reporting skills. The ability to work under pressure and in varied field environments.
• Language: Proficiency in English for reading, writing, and speaking is essential. Knowledge of Arabic is a strong added advantage.
