Job Description

The Mechanical Technician will be assigned to the Maintenance or Operations department, responsible for a range of critical technical tasks to ensure smooth and efficient workflow. Key responsibilities include:

• Routine and Preventive Maintenance: Performing regular inspections and executing preventive maintenance tasks on various mechanical equipment such as pumps, compressors, turbines, and mechanical conveying systems.
• Diagnosis and Repair: Quickly and accurately diagnosing the root causes of mechanical breakdowns and performing necessary repairs to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity.
• Assembly and Installation: Assisting in the installation, alignment, and testing of new mechanical equipment according to technical specifications and engineering drawings.
• Inspection and Testing: Using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, vibration meters) to inspect equipment components and ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
• Documentation and Reporting: Recording all maintenance and repair work performed in detailed reports and informing the direct supervisor of any issues or spare parts requirements.
• Safety Compliance: Strictly adhering to all applicable site and company Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A diploma or equivalent in Mechanics or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized technical institute or college.
• Work Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment within an industrial setting (e.g., manufacturing plants, power stations, oil & gas facilities, or heavy industries).
• Technical Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical principles and thermodynamics.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and schematic diagrams.
  • Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and specialized mechanical equipment.
  • A solid understanding of lubrication systems and mechanical control systems.
• Personal Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
  • Flexibility to work, occasionally responding to overtime or emergency call-outs.
• Other Requirements: Prior work experience within Saudi Arabia and familiarity with local labor regulations will be a distinct advantage.
