Job Description
The Safety Engineer will hold a pivotal role within the company's structure, acting as the primary authority for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) management systems. The engineer will report to senior management and work closely with various operational departments to ensure a safe work environment that complies with all local and international standards.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop & Implement Safety Policies: Create and update the company's comprehensive safety policies and procedures, ensuring they are understood and adhered to by all employees and workers.
- Conduct Risk Assessments: Perform regular safety risk assessments across all company sites and facilities, identify potential hazards, and develop effective control and prevention plans.
- Inspection & Monitoring: Conduct scheduled and surprise inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards, and verify the condition of safety equipment and protective gear.
- Training & Awareness: Design and deliver effective training programs for all staff levels on safe work practices, emergency procedures, and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Requirements and Qualifications
To be a successful candidate for this position, you should meet the following criteria:
Educational Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Safety & Occupational Health Engineering) from an accredited university.
- Professional safety certifications (such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent) will be a significant advantage.
Work Experience:
- Proven practical experience of at least 3 to 5 years in a Safety Engineer role or similar, preferably in industrial services, construction, oil & gas, or related sectors.
- Previous work experience in Kuwait or the GCC region, with an understanding of its regulatory environment, is a strong plus.
Personal & Professional Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (e.g., OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001).
- Strong understanding of Kuwaiti safety legislation and regulations.
- Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, in both Arabic and English.
- Ability to prepare clear technical reports and presentations.
