Job Description
The Accountant will be responsible for managing the company's daily accounting operations, including recording journal entries, monitoring accounts receivable and payable, and performing periodic bank reconciliations. The role also involves preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports, and participating in budget preparation and financial forecasting. The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local regulatory requirements in the UAE.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the general ledger and record all financial transactions.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and supplier/customer account reconciliations.
- Prepare financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement).
- Monitor accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely collection of dues.
- Assist in preparing VAT returns and ensuring tax compliance.
- Participate in internal and external audit processes.
- Analyze financial data and provide recommendations for financial performance improvement.
- Maintain an organized electronic and paper filing system for financial documents.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a technology or services company environment.
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken); Arabic is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Odoo, or SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
