Job Description and Key Responsibilities
The successful estimator will be entrusted with a range of vital responsibilities focused on accuracy and financial efficiency, including:
- Preparing Accurate Cost Estimates: Analyzing architectural and structural drawings (plans, specifications, and detail drawings) for aluminium and glass facade projects to prepare comprehensive and detailed cost estimates.
- Quantity Take-Off: Performing precise calculations for all required materials, including aluminium profiles, various types of glass (insulated, laminated, curved, etc.), insulation materials, silicone, and mechanical hardware components.
- Tendering and Bidding: Preparing and submitting competitive bids and tenders for new projects in collaboration with the sales and management teams. This involves pricing labor, equipment, transportation, and relevant taxes or duties.
- Project Cost Management: Monitoring actual costs during the execution phase against the estimated budget, identifying any variances, and proposing corrective actions.
- Supplier and Subcontractor Liaison: Sourcing reliable suppliers and subcontractors, requesting quotations, and negotiating prices to ensure the best value.

- Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost estimation for aluminium and glass facade projects (Curtain Walls, Windows, Skylights, etc.) within contracting or specialized facade companies.
- Technical Skills:
- Excellent proficiency in estimation software, drawing tools like AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and advanced spreadsheet software (primarily Microsoft Excel).
- In-depth knowledge of aluminium and glass systems and specifications (e.g., systems like Schüco, Reynaers, or similar) and related materials.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, work plans, and project timelines.
