Job Description
The Bay Manager plays a critical role in aviation operations, responsible for managing and coordinating all activities related to aircraft bays at the airport. This includes overseeing ground handling operations, aircraft movement within bays, ensuring adherence to flight schedules, and promoting safety and security at all times. The role demands extensive experience in field operations management within a busy airport environment.
Key Responsibilities (Expected based on job nature)
- Supervise daily bay operations to ensure smooth airside and landside traffic.
- Coordinate boarding and disembarkation processes, as well as baggage and cargo loading/unloading.
- Manage field staff, including bay supervisors and ground handling agents.
- Ensure compliance with safety and security standards set by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).
- Effectively handle any emergencies or schedule delays.
- Prepare periodic reports on operational performance and productivity.
- Collaborate with other departments such as maintenance and ground services to improve efficiency.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years in aviation operations, with proven experience in bay management or ground handling.
- Skills:
- Fluency in English (spoken and written); Arabic is mandatory.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage large teams.
- Excellent knowledge of Airport Operations Database (AODB) systems and ground handling procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions.
- High communication and coordination skills.
- Certifications (Preferred): Certifications in aviation safety or ground operations management (e.g., IATA Ground Operations).
