Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The selected accountant will be appointed as the primary financial officer for the branch operations in Kuwait City. Their focus will be on ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial records, compliance with local regulations, and supporting management decision-making through precise financial reporting. Core responsibilities include:

• Daily Accounting: Accurately and promptly recording all financial transactions for the branch, including invoices, expenses, and revenues.
• Accounts Management: Periodic reconciliation of accounts receivable and payable, following up on client receivables, and ensuring the smooth running of the collection process.
• Financial Reporting: Preparing periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) for the branch and presenting them to management. This includes income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assisting in the preparation of the branch's annual budget and monitoring actual performance against the approved budget, providing analysis for variances.
• Compliance and Audit: Ensuring all branch financial operations comply with applicable tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards in Kuwait. Coordinating with external auditors during periodic audit processes.
• Cash Management: Monitoring the branch's cash flow and ensuring sufficient liquidity to cover operational liabilities.
• Month/Year-End Close: Playing a key role in the monthly and annual financial closing processes for the branch.

Required Qualifications and Skills

For a candidate to be successful in this role, they must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional accounting certifications (e.g., CMA, CPA) are a strong advantage.
• Work Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of practical experience in accounting, with preference given to experience as a branch accountant or in a similar operational environment. Experience in the Kuwaiti or GCC market is a significant plus.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Practical knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Personal Skills: High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. High integrity and work ethics.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Knowledge of Kuwait's tax systems and commercial laws.
