Job Description: Chief Corporate Services

The Chief Corporate Services role is a cornerstone of the Authority's administrative structure. The incumbent will be responsible for leading and directing all support and service departments that enable the institution to function efficiently and effectively. This executive will be directly accountable for ensuring seamless internal corporate operations, allowing the core investment and finance teams to focus on achieving their primary objectives.

Key Expected Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive corporate services strategy aligned with the overarching vision and strategic goals of the Oman Investment Authority.
  • Support Functions Management: Provide direct oversight and leadership to a range of critical departments, which may include (but are not limited to): Human Resources, Administration & Logistics, Information Technology, Procurement & Contracts, Facilities Management, and Legal & Compliance affairs (in coordination with specialized departments).
  • Operational Efficiency Enhancement: Lead process improvement initiatives and the adoption of best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of internal service delivery while maintaining cost control.
  • Quality & Compliance Assurance: Ensure all corporate services and operations comply with internal policies, regulations, and relevant international standards.
  • Budget Management: Prepare and monitor operational budgets for the supervised departments and ensure optimal utilization of financial resources.
  • Team Building & Development: Lead and develop a large, multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and performance excellence.
  • Corporate Support: Provide advisory support to senior management on all aspects of corporate services and their impact on institutional performance.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Given the seniority of this role, the Oman Investment Authority is seeking candidates with a proven track record of achievement and deep expertise:

  • Academic Qualification: A foundational Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or Engineering. An advanced degree (e.g., MBA or equivalent) is highly preferred.
  • Professional Experience: A minimum of 15 years of overall experience, with at least 8 years in senior leadership roles overseeing corporate services or operations within large, complex organizations. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the financial, investment, or major government sectors.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead large teams, manage change, and make strategic decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of global best practices in corporate services management, project management, and financial planning.
  • Personal Skills: Excellent communication (verbal and written), negotiation, and influencing skills. Must demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and address complex challenges.
  • Language Proficiency: Full professional proficiency in both Arabic and English (spoken and written).
