Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The appointed Consultant Psychiatrist will hold a pivotal role within a multidisciplinary team, with primary responsibilities including:
- Providing Specialized Psychiatric Consultations & Assessments: Conducting comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for adult patients presenting with a wide spectrum of mental and psychiatric disorders.
- Developing & Implementing Treatment Plans: Formulating individualized and holistic treatment plans, which may include pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy, and other appropriate interventions, with regular monitoring of patient progress.
- Clinical Leadership: Offering guidance, supervision, and support to resident doctors, nursing staff, and other mental health professionals within the department.
- Multidisciplinary Team Collaboration: Working closely with psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare practitioners to ensure integrated, patient-centered care.
- Adherence to Highest Practice Standards: Ensuring full compliance with local and international ethical and clinical protocols, and maintaining accurate, up-to-date medical records.

Essential Requirements & Qualifications
To be eligible for this prestigious opportunity, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: A primary medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with specialized training in Psychiatry.
- Post-Graduate Certification: Possession of a recognized fellowship or board certification in Adult Psychiatry (e.g., Arab Board, American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology - ABPN, Canadian Board, UK Royal College MRCPsych or equivalent).
- Licensing: A valid medical license from the country of qualification. The ability to obtain licensure from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) is a fundamental requirement.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of post-fellowship experience practicing as an Adult Psychiatrist, with preference given to those with experience in academic or large hospital settings.

- Language: Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is essential. Proficiency in Arabic is a significant advantage.
