Job Description

The Mechanical Draughtsman will play a pivotal role within the company's mechanical engineering team, responsible for translating engineers' concepts and preliminary sketches into precise, execution-ready technical drawings. He/She will work closely with engineers and designers to ensure the accuracy and quality of all mechanical schematics.

Key Expected Responsibilities:

• Prepare and develop detailed mechanical technical drawings using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD.
• Convert initial sketches and designs from engineers into clear and accurate production drawings.
• Review and modify existing drawings based on engineering team feedback or changing project requirements.
• Ensure all drawings comply with standard engineering codes and project specifications.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM) and accompanying technical information for drawings.
• Maintain an organized archive of all technical files and drawings.
• Collaborate with other departments such as Civil and Electrical Engineering for integrated drawing coordination.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

To qualify for this opportunity, you should meet the following criteria:

Educational Qualifications and Experience:

• A diploma or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Drafting, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of practical experience as a Mechanical Draughtsman, preferably within the contracting or heavy industries sector.
• Excellent proficiency in AutoCAD (recent versions) is a fundamental requirement.
• Experience with 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) will be a strong added advantage.

Personal and Technical Skills:

• High degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
• Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles and concepts.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Knowledge of international engineering drawing standards.
