Job Description

Global Medical Recruiting is pleased to announce an exceptional career opportunity for Critical Care Consultants to join a Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) in Doha, Qatar. This position is designated for physicians holding Grade 115 qualification according to Qatar's medical classification system.

The consultant will work within a multidisciplinary team to provide advanced care for critically ill patients following major surgical procedures, including cardiac, thoracic, neurosurgical, and gastrointestinal surgeries.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage critically ill patients in the Surgical ICU setting
• Oversee treatment plans for post-operative patients
• Coordinate with surgeons and anesthesiologists to ensure continuity of care
• Perform advanced medical procedures including intubation, mechanical ventilation, and central line insertion
• Participate in daily rounds and assess patient progress
• Train residents and nursing staff on the latest critical care protocols
• Contribute to the development of ICU policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree
• Board certification or fellowship in Critical Care, Anesthesiology, or Internal Medicine
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in critical care post-specialization
• Proven experience managing surgical ICU patients
• Proficiency in English (Arabic is a plus)
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communication and decision-making skills under pressure

• Advanced mechanical ventilation management
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Trauma and emergency management
• Invasive hemodynamic monitoring insertion and interpretation
• Multiple organ failure management
• Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
