Director, UAE Business Banking Sales - First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB)

Job Overview
The successful Director will be responsible for leading and directing the sales strategy for the Business Banking team across the UAE. The primary focus will be on enhancing the bank's market share, building robust relationships with corporate clients across various sectors and sizes, and driving sustainable revenue growth. The Director will operate from the bank's headquarters in Abu Dhabi, with continuous engagement across the different emirates.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales plan for the Business Banking segment in the UAE market, aligning with FAB's overarching strategic goals.
- Team Management: Guide and lead a team of relationship managers and sales professionals, providing mentorship and support to achieve sales and performance targets.
- Business Development: Identify new market growth opportunities, acquire new corporate clients, while focusing on expanding the customer portfolio and deepening loyalty among existing clients.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strategic, C-level relationships with corporate clients, deeply understanding their business needs to deliver tailored, value-added banking solutions.
- Target Achievement: Hold direct responsibility for meeting the defined revenue, volume, and profitability targets for the sales team under your supervision.
- Analysis & Reporting: Monitor market performance and analyze financial data, preparing regular reports for senior management on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
- Academic Credentials: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or equivalent. A Master’s degree (e.g., MBA) or professional certifications (e.g., CFA) are a strong advantage.
- Professional Experience: A proven track record of at least 10 years in sales or business development within the banking sector, with a strong focus on Business/Corporate Banking. This must include a minimum of 5 years in leadership or supervisory positions.
- Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the economic, regulatory, and market landscape in the United Arab Emirates, particularly the business and corporate sector.
- Leadership Skills: Exceptional ability to motivate and lead a team to achieve targets in a highly competitive environment.
- Communication & Negotiation Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English, with superior negotiation and client persuasion abilities.
- Analytical Skills: Strong capability to analyze financial data and make strategic decisions based on derived insights.
