Job Description and Responsibilities
The appointed Electrical Engineer will perform a range of critical technical and engineering tasks and responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Designing and reviewing electrical engineering drawings and schematics for power, control, and lighting systems.
- Supervising the implementation of electrical projects on-site, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, local and international standards, and the highest safety protocols.
- Conducting necessary electrical calculations, such as load calculations, cable sizing assessments, and selection of appropriate protection equipment.
- Maintaining and inspecting existing electrical systems, diagnosing faults, and developing preventive and corrective maintenance plans.
- Preparing technical reports and project documentation, and providing technical support to the work team and contractors.
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable electrical regulations and codes in the Sultanate of Oman.
- Working closely with other engineering teams (Mechanical, Civil) to ensure seamless project integration.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be eligible for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of practical experience in the electrical engineering field, preferably in industrial, contracting, or consultancy environments.
- Deep knowledge of electrical systems, distribution panels, generators, lighting systems, and control systems.
- Proficiency in using engineering design and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software (such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar).
- Strong understanding of electrical safety standards (e.g., IEEE, NEC, or local Omani standards).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work within a team.
- Proficiency in the English language; knowledge of Arabic is an additional advantage.
- Flexibility to travel between work sites or project locations as required.
