Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Emergency Nurse will be responsible for providing urgent and specialized nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department. The primary duties include:

  • Rapid Triage and Assessment: Conducting swift and accurate initial assessments of patients arriving at the Emergency Department, prioritizing care based on the severity of their condition.
  • Implementation of Care Plans: Assisting in the execution of emergency treatment plans as directed by physicians, including administering medications, performing injections, setting up IV lines, and wound care.
  • Continuous Monitoring: Closely monitoring patients' vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature) and observing for any changes in their condition, promptly reporting significant changes to the attending physician.
  • Psychological and Emotional Support: Providing support, reassurance, and clear communication to patients and their families during stressful and emergent situations.
  • Collaboration with Medical Team: Working closely with doctors, technicians, and other nursing staff to ensure a coordinated and efficient workflow within the Emergency Department.
  • Assistance in Emergency Procedures: Assisting in life-saving emergency procedures such as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and other critical interventions.
  • Accurate Documentation: Precisely and timely documenting all nursing assessments, interventions, and care provided to the patient in medical records.
  • Protocol Compliance: Strictly adhering to all institutional safety, infection control, and prevention protocols.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

To be eligible for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a recognized Nursing Diploma.
  • Licensing: The applicant must possess a valid nursing license from the United Arab Emirates (e.g., from the Ministry of Health and Prevention - MOH) or be eligible to obtain one. Candidates holding licenses from other GCC countries will be preferred.
  • Experience: Proven practical experience of at least 2-3 years in an Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, or a similar acute care setting.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in basic and advanced emergency nursing skills (e.g., airway management, trauma care, IV medication administration).
  • Personal Skills:
    • Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent communication and listening skills when interacting with patients and colleagues.
    • Strong team spirit and collaborative ability.
    • Flexibility to work various shifts (morning, evening, night) and on holidays.
  • Language: Fluency in English, both spoken and written. Knowledge of the Arabic language is a strong advantage.
